I am a big fan of using music to create a working headspace.
Read MoreWhen I was in high school, my science/math teacher would play us classical music and give us peppermints whenever we took tests. Supposedly this stimulated our brains and helped us do better. I figure the same thing is true of creativity, so here are the songs and albums that get my juices flowing.
Read MoreHello, all! Time for some Alone Together project updates. Truth be told, this last month is has been an exercise in why it’s difficult to make your own project.
Read MoreBefore I worked in The Industry™ or adjacent to it, I was just a regular person who would watch movies and think, “aw man, props and stuff, that can’t be that hard.”
I’m still a regular person, but you know what I’m not anymore? The movie watching thinking that props/wardrobe/hair/makeup/etc is easy. Because it’s not. It’s actually really difficult. And it takes a lot of time and planning and literally watching paint dry.
Read MoreI’m going to be completely honest, I’m tired. I’m so fucking tired. I’m burnt out. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends and trying to relight the ashes of what’s left. Read MoreWhen 2018 began, I had one major goal in mind for myself and that was this: put fear in the back seat. I’d just finished reading “Big Magic” by Elizabeth Gilbert and it had spun me into a reading spree of books of a similar nature, such as “The War of Art” by Steven Pressfield and “The Happiness Project” by Gretchen Rubin.
